A home alarm system cannot work without a power supply. It is what gives the system juice. An alarm power supply is basically a source of electrical power that supplies the energy that an alarm system needs to operate and to protect your home. Here at Petitbon Alarm, our systems are powered by your home’s electrical power supply, but they also include a backup battery. This means if the power goes out (which it often seems to do in the fall and winter), your home security system will still operate. Having a reliable back-up power source adds a lot of peace of mind.
The amount of time a backup battery lasts varies based on a number of factors including the age of the battery and the load it is carrying. We find that that our battery backups typically last between 12 and 24 hours. If your battery goes low at any time, your keypad will notify you an you may contact us for a replacement battery.
